Muhurat and the Date Finder
In Vedic astrology a Muhurat is a time chosen as favourable for starting something: a wedding, a griha pravesh (entering a new home), a business, a journey or a ceremony. The choice is made from the Panchang, which gives the Tithi, Nakshatra, Yoga, Karana and weekday of each day, together with the timing within the day.
Find dates with the Date Finder
The Date Finder searches a whole year of Panchang data for the days that match what you ask for.
- Open the Full Year Panchang and choose the year (use the year arrows) and your city.
- In Find Dates by Panchang & Muhurat, press + Add Filter and choose what to match: Tithi, Nakshatra, Yoga, Rashi, Muhurat, day of the week or time of day.
- Add more filters if you like, then press Search. The matching dates are listed.
- Use Copy link to this search to share or save the same search.
For example, filter by a Tithi to list every day in the year that has it, or by a Nakshatra to list the days the Moon is in it. A year you have not opened before can take a few seconds to load the first time.
Other date tools
- Hindu festival dates by year: every festival and vrat with its Tithi.
- Compare Two Panchang Dates: two dates side by side.
- Full Year Panchang: the whole calendar, with Choghadiya and Hora for each day.
When to ask an astrologer
The Panchang gives the general quality of a day. A Muhurat for a particular wedding or ceremony also depends on the charts of the people involved. For that, you can ask about a Muhurat consultation.
