Privacy Policy

VedicDisha (vedicdisha.com)

This Privacy Policy explains what personal information VedicDisha ("we", "us", "our") collects through vedicdisha.com (the "Website"), how we use it, who it may be shared with, and the choices you have. It should be read together with our Terms and Conditions. By using the Website you accept the practices described here.

1. What this Policy covers

1.1 It covers the Website and the services offered through it: the free astrology and Panchang tools, accounts, saved kundalis, booking and contact forms, the shop, blog comments and live chat.

1.2 It does not cover other websites that we link to, or the services of the third parties named in section 5. Their own policies apply to what they handle.

2. Information we collect

2.1 Birth Chart, Kundali Matching and other tools. When you use these tools you enter details such as a name, gender, date of birth, time of birth and place of birth (including the latitude, longitude and time zone of that place). For Kundali Matching you enter these details for two people. These details are used to calculate your result. For the length of your visit they are kept in a temporary session on our server so that the result page can be shown, and they are sent to our calculation service to produce the result. We do not need your name for the calculation itself.

2.2 Place search. When you type a birth place, the text you type is sent to Google's place-search service to suggest places, and the location you pick is sent to Google's time-zone service (see section 5).

2.3 Account. If you register, we collect the details you give (such as your name, email address and a password). Passwords are stored in encrypted (hashed) form by WordPress. If you log in, the account details and your activity in your account are linked to you.

2.4 Saved kundalis. If you are logged in and choose "Save Kundali", we store that chart's details (name, gender, date, time and place of birth, and the coordinates and time zone) against your account email so that you can open it again. You can delete a saved kundali yourself from your saved-kundali page.

2.5 Booking and contact forms. When you submit a booking request or use a contact form, we receive what you enter, such as your name, email address, phone number, address, the service you want, preferred date and time, and any message. These are sent to us by email, and booking requests are also stored on the Website so that we can handle your request.

2.6 Orders. If you buy products, we collect the billing and delivery details you enter at checkout (such as name, address, phone number, email address and order notes) and the details of your order. Currently the payment method offered is cash on delivery; we do not collect or store card or bank details on the Website.

2.7 Comments. If you comment on a blog post, we collect the name, email address, website (if given) and comment you submit, and WordPress records technical details such as your IP address. Your name and comment may be shown publicly.

2.8 Live chat. If you use the chat window, the messages you send, and any details you give in them, are handled through the Tawk.to chat service.

2.9 Technical information. Like most websites, we and our service providers receive technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser and device type, pages visited, and the date and time. We use Google Analytics to understand how the Website is used (see section 6).

2.10 Information about other people. If you give us details of another person (for example a spouse or child), please make sure you have their permission, or are their parent or guardian, to do so.

If you give us another person's details, you confirm that you are entitled to do so. You can withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us (section 10); this does not affect what was done before you withdrew, and we may not be able to provide a service that needs the information.

5.4 If our business is ever transferred to another owner, your information may be transferred with it, subject to this Policy.
